Is the property actually on Lake Superior, or just nearby?
Yes — the property is lakefront on Lake Superior, with direct views and shoreline access.
Is this closer to Marquette or AuTrain?
We’re located in Onota Township, just outside Marquette. Most guests use “Marquette” for navigation and dining, and we’re a short drive from downtown.
Will my GPS work accurately here?
Yes, but we recommend using the full address rather than the property name for the most accurate directions.
Can we reserve the entertainment rooms for private use?
Yes. Shared entertainment rooms may be reserved for private use for a set period of time, based on availability. Please coordinate directly with the innkeepers to plan this during your stay.
Is the driveway easy to find at night?
Yes — the property is well-lit in the evenings, and signage makes it easy to identify upon arrival.
Will I see other guests during my stay?
Possibly. The property includes multiple private studios and shared entry areas, but each unit is fully private once inside.
Is this considered “remote,” or are we close to town?
While the property feels peaceful and tucked away, we’re just a short drive from downtown Marquette for dining, groceries, and activities.
Is the Eagle’s Nest and Bear's Den Studio completely private?
The bunk beds are best suited for children or smaller adults, while the king bed upstairs is ideal for adults.
Is there a door between the shared spaces and my unit?
Yes — once you enter your studio, the space is entirely your own.
Are pets allowed in all areas of the property?
Pets are welcome (with a fee) in designated pet-friendly units only and must remain under supervision at all times.
Can my dog be off-leash near the lake?
For safety, dogs should remain leashed outdoors, especially near the lake and shared areas.
Is there a place to rinse muddy paws or wet gear?
Yes! Our shared mudroom includes a dedicated dog wash station, perfect for rinsing muddy paws, wet fur, or sandy gear after time outdoors. It’s especially helpful after lake walks, hikes, or snowy adventures.
Is there Wi-Fi strong enough for work or streaming?
Yes — Wi-Fi is available throughout the property and is suitable for streaming and remote work.
Is there storage for outdoor gear (skis, snowshoes, kayaks)?
Yes — the mudroom is designed to store outdoor gear safely and conveniently.
Do we need a car to stay here?
Yes. Public transportation and rideshares are limited in the Upper Peninsula, and having a car is the easiest way to explore the area.
Is it normal for places to close early here?
Yes — especially in the off-season. Many local restaurants and shops close earlier than visitors expect, particularly in winter.
Are roads plowed in the winter?
Yes, main roads are regularly plowed, but winter driving conditions can change quickly. We recommend AWD or winter tires during snowy months.
